Over the last 2 weeks, some of my colleagues and I have spent lunchtime at our desks doing some digital studies from reference.  The first 2 are studies of work by Nathan Fowkes, the rest are photos.

These are done in a relatively short amount of time, about 30 minutes each (some I have gone back and spent a little more time on) and with every one, I learn something new.  So much fun.

I wanted to do a little glass study, and Björn’s amber speaker caught my eye.  I tried staying at 100% opacity for as long as I could, and only using a hard-edged brush to avoid too much muddy furryness.

Marching Bands of Manhattan, my entry for CGChallenge XXVI.  Too bad the upload tool at CGSociety is broken, hopefully they will fix it soon!
In my dreams, changing and mixing scenery is typical.  And I’ve always gotten dreamlike images from the lyrics of this Death Cab song which I’ve wanted to put into a picture, so this was a welcome challenge!
Thank you to Björn S who gave me many helpful pointers when I was stuck!
